Stratopolonez (Polonez 2500 Racing) – a Polish rear-wheel-drive racing car with a 2.4-liter V6 engine located in the center. Only one vehicle was produced in 1978.

In 1977, Andrzej Jaroszewicz, the son of Prime Minister Piotr Jaroszewicz, set off on the route of the Rally Poland, leading the Lancia Stratos. However, he did not finish the rally by smashing the car into a tree. The body was useless anymore, but the engine and the drivetrain came out of the accident unscathed. These elements were delivered to the FSO Research and Development Center. In 1978, the Special Research Department of the FSO Research and Development Center, as part of a research program, was given the task of designing and building a racing car, the Polonez with a mid-engine.

Stratopolonez competed in races until 1985. Andrzej Jaroszewicz, Adam Polak, Maciej Stawowiak and Marian Bublewicz were behind the wheel. On the initiative of the latter, wider wheel arches were installed, which eventually covered the rear wheels, and the body was strengthened around the windshield. The Stratopolonez competed with other sports prototypes and high-performance variants of mass-produced cars. In the most famous photos, 2500 Racing appears among such cars as Porsche 911, Renault 5 Turbo and Opel Kadett GTE.
